The Focused On Scientific Imaging (FOSI) seminar series was established with the goal to provide a common interface for all researchers at UBC that use (or want to use) imaging techniques to answer their scientific question.

With this in mind, FOSI not only addresses Professors, PIs, staff and graduate students, but also encourages everybody that is interested in learning something about microscopy to join the seminar series.

As the name indicates, the seminars will focus on the imaging technique, however, the talks will address both the practical side (answering questions about the equipment and method) and the scientific side (highlighting the scientific questions that can be addressed).

Finally, FOSI will create a space for everybody to ask questions, start discussions and to get in touch with the people that use the imaging technique that you might need for your own research!

With your participation, you will help us to form a networked microscopy community at UBC that will consequently improve the standard of your research and will keep you updated about the available techniques at UBC.
